The White Sox picked up their 2007 option on Jermaine Dye on Monday, according to ESPN.com. He will receive approximately $6.75 million in 2007. Dye had a career year in 2006, hitting .315 with 44 homers and 120 RBI.

The White Sox are expected to pick up their $6 million contract option to keep Jermaine Dye with the team next season, according to the Daily Southtown. The Sox still might give him a contract extension, but he's obviously not going anywhere this offseason. Dye led the team with 44 homers, 120 RBI and a .315 batting average.

It's likely that Ozzie Guillen will go back to a more regular lineup on the weekend at division-contending Minnesota. Wednesday's game was played in the rain and ultimately shortened to eight innings, so Guillen had some additional incentive not to expose his key guys.

"I might have Dye hit third and (Jim) Thome then Paul (Konerko)," Guillen said. "We're thinking about it. ... I think it would be better off doing that that way, but like I said, that's in the air right now."
