October 14, 2008 Tim Wakefield 's knuckleball wasn't fluttering Tuesday, as he allowed five runs on six hits and two walks in just 2 2/3 innings. He was removed in favor of Justin Masterson. September 28, 2008 Tim Wakefield threw five shutout innings against the Yankees in Boston's final game of the season on Sunday. He allowed just two hits and struck out three. September 17, 2008 Tim Wakefield was tagged for three home runs in 2.1 innings of work by the first place Rays on Wednesday. He allowed six total hits and six runs in the process. September 17, 2008 Tim Wakefield bounced back from a terrible outing to throw eight shutout innings against, at the time, a streaking Blue Jays team on Friday. Wakefield should throw a quality start due to the variables in tonight's game. His ERA versus the Rays this season is a strong 2.77.
