He had been competing with Dmitri Young for the starting job at first base. Lee explained that he doesn't have the same passion for the game anymore, so it looks like his career may be over. March 1, 2007 Travis Lee may miss the first week of the exhibition season due to a strained right oblique, according to the AP. He suffered the injury last Friday. "I'm not going to rush him back," Nationals manager Manny Acta said. "One week is not going to make it or break it for Travis Lee." January 18, 2007 Travis Lee signed a minor-league deal with the Nationals Thursday, the AP reports. Lee was also invited to spring training.
