Jason Kendall and Mark Kotsay switched spots in the A's batting order on Friday with Kendall batting first and Kotsay moving to the No. 2 hole. "It isn't being done to spur anybody, we just wanted to balance the lineup and make it go right, left, right, left up there," A's manager Ken Macha told the AP.
