The Pirates earned the 5-2 victory this evening over the Houston Astros, a win built on the bat of outfielder Raul Chavez . Chavez went just 1-for-3 on the night, but he made that one single work for three RBIs.

The Pirates called up Raul Chavez on Wednesday to take the roster spot of injured catcher Ryan Doumit, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports. Chavez, 35, was hitting .306-3-13 over 26 games at Triple-A Indianapolis.

The Orioles purchased the contract of Raul Chavez from Double-A Bowie on Tuesday, according to the AP. The move was made after backup catcher after Chris Widger sustained a pinched nerve in his neck. Chavez was 1-for-11 in two earlier stints with Baltimore this season.
