Dr. Thomas Graham inserted a pin in the tip of Rolen's finger and he is scheduled to have it taken out on April 7. Rolen injured the finger taking grounders during a morning field drill.
"It ripped his nail completely off his finger," general manager J.P. Ricciardi said.
Rolen broke the bone above the top knuckle on his right middle finger. It's unclear how long he will be out. A normal recovery time of a non-displaced fracture is anywhere from 2-6 weeks.
