Ken Griffey Jr will not play again this year due to his high left groin strain, the Cincinnati Post reports. He'll be re-examined in four weeks. Griffey owners can't feel that bad - he got to the plate 528 times, his highest total since 1999, and he also smacked 30 homers and drove in 93 runs.

Griffey will return today to Cincinnati, where he will be evaluated by Reds medical director Dr. Tim Kremcheck, according to the Cincinnati Post.
