The Rockies now have 10 days to trade, release or send Finley outright to the minor leagues. In 94 at-bats this year, Finley hit .181 with one homer and two RBI. April 24, 2007 Steve Finley started in center field again on Tuesday instead of the slumping Willy Taveras, but manager Clint Hurdle said he has no plans to rotate the two in center. "I'm trying to find ways to spark both of 'em," Hurdle said. April 4, 2007 Steve Finley may get a start Wednesday because of his 4-for-10 history against Arizona pitcher Doug Davis, the Rocky Mountain News reports. "When you get a new player, you do look at some of the numbers and look for some trends," Rockies manager Clint Hurdle said when asked about the possibility of Finley starting. As for Finley being a left-handed hitter and Davis being a left-handed pitcher, that might not matter; Davis has actually had less success getting lefties out during his career. February 24, 2007 The Rockies signed Steve Finley to a minor league contract on Saturday. He'll be a non-roster invitee in spring training. Finley hit .246 with 40 RBI in 139 at-bats with the Giants in 2006.
