GM John Mozeliak said, "We felt that taking a step back, let him not feel like he has to go to the training room, stop it, halt it, let him clear his head. Hes coming off a stringent program and we are deviating from that to see if it works. We are halting all throwing programs, all strengthening programs, and he will not be required to go to the training room."
July 17, 2008 Mark Mulder is set to meet with a specialist (Dr. Craig Morgan) in Deleware today as part of his tour of doctors to determine exactly what went wrong with his shoulder last week, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Mulder went 16 pitches into his return to the rotation when his shoulder refused to let him go any further.
