Ben Sheets threw a complete game shutout against the light-hitting San Diego Padres on Saturday. He struck out seven, walked one and gave up just five hits in the 1-0 victory. The victory is his 13th of the season, a career high.

Ben Sheets is on schedule to make his start on Saturday after he was pulled from his last start due to "cramping" in his groin, according to MLB.com. "Nutrition and [hydration] is a big part of staying healthy, and we really focus on it. We come to find out that Benny, at times, has trouble doing that."

Ben Sheets told JS Online that he expects to take his next turn in the rotation. That start would be Saturday against San Diego. Sheets left Monday's game against the Mets in the fifth inning after throwing just over 50 pitches with left groin tightness.

Updating an earlier story, Ben Sheets believes his groin injury isn't serious, according to the Associated Press. "I think it’s going to be fine," Sheets said. "I don’t think it’s as bad as last year. I really think I’m going to be all right. I’m just going to pay a little more attention to it and hopefully move forward."

Ben Sheets left Monday's game after five innings with tightness in his left groin. He needed just 54 pitches to get through five scoreless frames. The Brewers are listing him as day-to-day for the time being.
