Albert Pujols received his MRI results, which revealed no immediate need for him to undergo ligament replacement surgery, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Albert Pujols has been named the NL Player of the Week, according to the AP. Pujols batted .588 (10-for-17) with three home runs and 10 RBI last week. He impressively homered in three consecutive games from September 25-27.

Albert Pujols was 1-for-4 on Saturday night in the Cardinals' 8-5 win over the Reds. The one hit was a big one though. It was Pujols' 37th home run of the year.

The Cardinals are going to miss the playoffs for the second straight year after winning the World Series in 2006 but Albert Pujols is making a late charge for the NL batting title. Pujols (.357) trails only Chipper Jones (.365) in the race for the title. Pujols has gotten a hit in his last seven at-bats.
