Curtis Granderson hit a two-run home run in the eighth to tie up the game with the Minnesota Twins. The Tigers went on to win 6-4. He also added his 23rd double of the year.

Curtis Granderson hits with enough authority that he may be moved down in the order - but not this sesaon, according to the Detroit Free-Press. "We don't have that guy (to hit leadoff), and it's exciting when he leads off with doubles and triples. It's still good for us when he leads off. But he's matured enough to where he can knock in runs," said Tigers manager Jim Leyland.

The Indians and Tigers waged war on the field this evening, but the fans in Detroit left disappointed with a 9-7 loss despite the efforts of outfielder Curtis Granderson. Granderson went 3-for-4 in the leadoff spot, getting one walk and his 16th homer of the season to post two RBIs and three runs scored on the night.
