Carlos Ruiz was the Game 3 hero for Philadelphia on early Sunday morning. The catcher went 2-for-3 with two RBI including a bases loaded infield single to drive home the game-winning run in the ninth inning. He also scored a run and drew a walk.

Carlos Ruiz is not in the lineup for Sunday's tilt with the Marlins, but his left hand is fine. "I'm ready to go," Ruiz tells MLB.com. "I feel very good." He took a pitch off the hand on Saturday. Chris Coste is starting in his place on Sunday.

Carlos Ruiz took a pitch off the left hand on Saturday. X-rays were negative, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Ruiz is day-to-day with a bruise.

Carlos Ruiz left Sunday's game in the bottom of the fourth inning after being hit on the left elbow by a pitch, according to SportsTicker. It's not clear yet if this will affect Ruiz's status for the NLDS, which begins Wednesday.

Carlos Ruiz is dealing with a sore right knee, but he missed Wednesday's game because of a suspension. Ruiz dropped the appeal stemming from a June 17 incident and served the one-game ban, the Philadelphia Daily News reports.
