Player Notes
March 26, 2008
Enrique Gonzalez suffered through a horrendous outing in today's 7-12 loss to the Texas Rangers. Gonzalez allowed six runs on seven hits in just one inning. This brings his spring ERA to 5.68 as only starter Jake Peavy faced more hitters (and he pitched three innings). With Gonzalez fighting for consideration as a final addition to the bullpen, outings like this give little reason for optimism.
February 25, 2008
The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that reliever Enrique Gonzalez reported to camp on Sunday. The ex-Diamondback was the only MIA for skipper Bud Black and was absent due to Venezuela visa issues.
February 5, 2008
The Padres claimed Enrique Gonzalez off waivers from the Nationals Tuesday. The Nats claimed him off waivers just before the end of the season but he didn't make an appearance for them. Gonzalez has a career ERA of 5.82 in 108 1/3 innings for the D'Backs.
September 17, 2007
Enrique Gonzalez was claimed off waivers by the Diamondbacks on Monday. He was 8-10 with a 5.14 ERA in 27 starts at Triple-A Tucson this season, and there's nothing really to like here for fantasy purposes.
June 21, 2007
Enrique Gonzalez was sent back to Triple-A on Wednesday, according to the Arizona Republic. He made just once appearance, allowing three runs in two innings of work.
