Player Notes
March 21, 2008
Garrett Jones has been outrighted to Triple-A Rochester. He was out of options, but the 26-year-old passed through waivers. Jones is your typical 4-A player that can mash in the minors but can't stick at the major league level.

The Twins will call up Garrett Jones to replace Ramon Ortiz on the 25-man roster for Friday’s series opener against the Rangers, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Jones was hitting .280 with 13 homers and 70 RBI at Triple-A and can play in the outfield and at first base and designated hitter. He's unlikely to get regular playing time, or to do much with it if he does.
July 22, 2007
Garrett Jones was sent back to Triple-A on Sunday to open up a roster spot for Rondell White, who is set to be activated on Monday, according to the AP. Jones hit just .160 in 25 at-bats with the Twins.
July 12, 2007
Garrett Jones was recalled from Triple-A on Thursday and immediately inserted into the lineup at DH, according to the AP. He went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.

Manager Ron Gardenhire indicated Tuesday that first baseman Garrett Jones will likely be called up from Triple-A instead of injured outfielder Rondell White. "I'd like to have another hitter, a DH to be a threat," Gardenhire told the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "Probably a guy who can drive the ball." Jones, who is hitting .295 with 11 homers and 58 RBI in the minors, went 1-for-8 during a brief stint in the majors in May.
