Cesar Jimenez had successful surgery for a stress fracture on his left elbow on Thursday, according to the AP. He won't pick up a ball for approximately six weeks.

An MRI taken on Cesar Jimenez disclosed that he has a stress fracture of his throwing elbow, according to the Mariners official site. Jimenez was injured on Wednesday while pitching against the Giants. The fracture is in the olecranon, or tip, of his elbow and he has decided to undergo surgery to help speed the healing process. The surgery, performed by Mariners team medical director Dr. Edward Khalfayan, will be scheduled within the next week.
