Joel Peralta was optioned to Triple-A Omaha, according to the Kansas City Star. The team activated setup man Leo Nunez from the DL, and announced that Peralta was the corresponding move to free up a roster spot.

The Royals optioned Joel Peralta to Triple-A Omaha Sunday. Peralta was one of six relievers used in Saturday's 12-11 loss to the Yankees, as he allowed a run in 1 1/3 innings. Jeff Fulchino was brought up from Omaha to replace Peralta on the roster.

Joel Peralta made his spring training debut on Friday by pitching an inning without allowing a hit. He had been slowed earlier in camp with a virus that required a hospital trip.
