The Brewers soon-to-be ace Yovani Gallardo threw 75 pitches over four innings in Wednesday's Game 1 loss to the Phillies. The youngster yielded three unearned runs following a Rickie Weeks error. Coming back from knee surgery, the Brewers did not want to go much beyond 75 pitches for Gallardo on Wednesday.

Twenty-two year old Yovani Gallardo is more than ready to take on the pressure of starting Game 1 of the Brewers series with the Phillies, according to MLB.com. "Obviously, he's put himself through a lot this season with the knee injuries, and he battled back and did everything he could," manager Dale Sveum said. "He threw four great innings against the Pirates a week ago. And his makeup, we feel he's really the right guy for Game 1."
