When the rain cleared, Lincecum was summoned into the game. Unfortunately rain struck again and the game was halted for over an hour, but when play resumed the Giants allowed Lincecum to continue pitching. All told he pitched four innings allowing only one run while striking out four to pick up the victory. |

"Not to say I couldn't get my innings in in Tucson," he said. "I guess if anything happens to my groin, they figured I'd have to drive 2 1/2 hours back (from Tucson). So it's for precautionary reasons. It's nice to know they're taking care of you and pulling for you." Lincecum missed a recent start due to soreness in his groin, so the Giants moved him to the A-game in order to better be able to control the setting of the contest. As Lincecum said, it's just a precaution, so he should be fine. |
