"I'm probably going to need Masset between now and then, the way my bullpen got stretched out on Sunday," manager Dusty Baker said. July 31, 2008 The Reds acquired Nick Masset and Danny Richar from the White Sox in exchange for Ken Griffey Jr. Thursday. Masset holds a 4.63 ERA in 32 games (one start) this year. May 19, 2008 Nick Masset hadn't pitched since May 11, but he'll certainly be remembered for how he preserved the White Sox's 13-8 victory Sunday to secure a three-game sweep of the Giants. Masset bailed the Sox out of a bases-loaded jam in the eighth inning by stranding the tying and go-ahead runs, then pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his first major-league save.
