Jacoby Ellsbury had a big night at the plate going 2-for-5 with a run scored and three RBI for the Sox. He also had second base stolen before sliding over the bag and being tagged out by Erik Aybar.

Jacoby Ellsbury went 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI and also reached base on a three-base error by Gary Matthews. Ellsbury did it on the other side of the ball as well by making a diving catch that robbed Mark Teixeira of a hit.

Jacoby Ellsbury appears likely to return to the leadoff spot for the Red Sox in Game 1 of the ALDS, according to The Providence Journal. "I said all year, even when he wasn't hitting leadoff, we would be a better team when we got him back in that leadoff spot, and that's what happened," manager Terry Francona said.
