September 22, 2008 Jair Jurrjens lasted seven innings on Monday allowing the Phillies to score two runs on five hits and a walk. He also struck out one. September 11, 2008 Jair Jurrjens won his second straight start on Thursday night against the Rockies. It wasn't Jurrjens best start but lasted long enough to get the win. In six innings he gave up four runs on eight hits but did strike out 10 Rockies. September 5, 2008 Jair Jurrjens picked up his first win since August 9th on Friday night against the Nationals. It took him 98 pitches to get through five innings, after which he was pulled. He gave up six hits and one run while walking three and striking out six. August 31, 2008 Jair Jurrjens threw an average game for the Braves, allowing three runs in six innings to Washington, though he did strike out seven in the Braves 8-4 loss. April 2, 2008 Jair Jurrjens picked up his first victory in a Braves uniform as he limited the Pirates to just two runs in 5.1 innings. Jurrjens allowed seven hits and a walk on the night in a solid, but brief, first outing. With each solid outing, the prospects of Jurrjens remaining in the starting rotation will continue to grow. April 1, 2008 Jair Jurrjens will start his first game of 2008 on Wednesday against Pittsubrgh, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Brian McCann should catch that game and said, "He knows what he's doing on the mound. He's way more mature than 22 years old. He has a four-seam and a two-seam fastball, and he puts the ball where he wants to. He's going to be a front-line starter." That is certainly encouraging news from McCann. He was pitching well prior to today's disaster, and was notably in contention for the 5th spot in the rotation. Jair allowed only two hits and one walk in four innings during which time he blanked the Cardinals on Monday. In three spring starts, Jair owns a 1.00 ERA and he appears to be the clear-cut leader in the battle for the 5th spot in the rotation. March 5, 2008 Jair Jurrjens blanked the Indians for three innings on Wednesday. He allowed no hits and no runs, walked none, and struck out two. It's a nice outing for a guy competing for the No. 5 spot in the rotation.
