Marlins outfielder Brett Carroll was activated from the 60-day disabled list after suffering a shoulder separation in May, according to the Palm Beach Post.

Brett Carroll suffered a Level 2 shoulder separation and partially torn ligaments as a result of his encounter with the right field wall Friday, according to MLB.com. "Where my collarbone is, where it connects to the shoulder, on the X-ray, it's slightly elevated," Carroll said. "It felt like a car wreck when I hit the wall, though."

Brett Carroll left Friday's game in the fourth inning after running into the wall, according to SportsTicker. The outfielder was holding his right shoulder and grimacing in pain before exiting. Jacque Jones replaced him.

Brett Carroll is expected to be recalled by the Marlins to replace the injured Josh Willingham on the roster, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Caroll had a triple in eight at-bats earlier this year with the Fish. He was hitting .418 with nine homers and 23 RBI in 67 at-bats with Triple-A Albuquerque.
