August 25, 2008 Eddie Guardado has been traded from the Rangers to the Twins in exchange for minor league right-handed pitcher Mark Hamburger, according to the Dallas Morning News. To take Guardado's spot on the 25- and 40-man rosters, the Rangers have purchased the contract of left-handed pitcher Bill White from Triple-A Oklahoma. August 6, 2008 Eddie Guardado will inherit the closer's job with the Rangers while C.J. Wilson recovers from bone spurs in his left elbow on the DL, according to the AP. August 5, 2008 Eddie Guardado shut the door in the ninth inning for the Rangers on Tuesday night, and he earned his third save. The struggling C.J. Wilson worked the seventh inning and allowed four runs. August 5, 2008 Eddie Guardado has assumed the role of "interim closer" while C.J. Wilson works out mechanical issues, MLB.com reports.
