Rangers' Hamilton scratched from lineup
Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) - Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton was a late scratch from the lineup in Wednesday's game against the Kansas City Royals.

The left-handed slugger is out because of an abscessed tooth and was replaced by Brandon Boggs in left. Marlon Byrd moved to center.

Hamilton is hitting .298 this year with 29 homers and a major league-leading 116 RBI.... More...

Matt Harrison won a pitching duel against Brian Bannister and the Rangers completed a sweep of the Royals with a 3-2 victory at Kauffman Stadium on Wednesday night, according to MLB.com. Harrison went 6 2/3 innings and allowed two runs (both earned) on seven hits with two walks and four strikeouts, raising his record to 6-3 with a 5.67 ERA.

Texas outfielder David Murphy is ready to come off the disabled list by September 1st, but the Rangers are waiting until he's 100 percent, so it could be longer than that, according to MLB.com. However, Murphy did put his injured right knee through a strenuous test on Wednesday before the Rangers game with the Royals, and everything went well.
