The Washington Nationals have optioned outfielder Kory Castro to Triple-A Columbus, making room on the roster for newly-acquired Anderson Hernandez, according to the Washington Post.
Anderson Hernandez, 2BTuesday 8/19, 11:09 PM CT
Reports indicate the Washington Nationals acquired second baseman Anderson Hernandez from the New York Mets as the player to be named later in the deal that sent reliever Luis Ayala to the Mets, according to the Washington Post.
Jason Bergmann, PTuesday 8/19, 9:11 PM CT
The pitching in Washington has been nothing short of suspect this season, but RHP Jason Bergmann provided a bit of optimism this evening though his team fell 5-4 to Philadelphia. Bergmann pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits with no walks and four strikeouts.
