Hawks exercise options on Horford, Law
Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - The Atlanta Hawks have exercised the contract options for the 2009-10 season on forward/center Al Horford and guard Acie Law.

A unanimous selection to the NBA All-Rookie First Team and runner-up for Rookie of the Year honors, Horford had an outstanding rookie season in helping the Hawks reach the postseason for the first time in nine years. Horford nearly averaged a double-double a year ago, recording 10.1 points and 9.7 rebounds in 81 contests.

Mike Bibby played just 21 minutes in the preseason opener but did some things worth noting. He had three steals and five of his 11 shots were three pointers. He had 11 points in four assists in abbreviated action.

Al Horford had a solid preseason debut against Dwight Howard and the Magic on Monday. The second-year player played 22 minutes and contributed 13 points, nine rebounds and four blocks in the win.

Josh Smith played a game high 31:39 on Monday night in the Hawks 118-101 victory over the Magic. He scored nine points as he connected on just 4-of-14 shots, though he did add seven boards.
