Mavs re-sign Devean George Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - The Dallas Mavericks re-signed veteran swingman
Devean George on Monday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed by the team, but the Dallas Morning News
reported last week that George agreed to a two-year pact worth about $4
million.
"Getting Devean back in a Mavs uniform has been a goal of ours all summer,"
said Dallas head coach Rick Carlisle. "His experience and ability to run the
floor and play and defend multiple positions will be a great asset for us this
season."

Jason Kidd has said he will no longer be a part of international basketball competitions, choosing to go out on top with his gold medal, according to the Dallas Morning News. "I'm undefeated. I told them I can retire now from international ball," Kidd said.
Jason Kidd has plans for his gold medal if the United States is victorious against Spain in the final in Beijing, according to the Arizona Republic. He promised to give his gold medal to Elaine Wynn, who is the wife of billionaire casino owner Steve Wynn. Kidd said, "No, it's not a gambling marker or anything like that. She's just a great friend and a really great person. Last summer, we stayed at the Wynn resort for a lifetime, close to three weeks. We met at a banquet, we got to talking, and she really understands the game. I told her I'd make a deal with her, that if we won the gold medal, I'd give it to her. She thought I was kidding. But I told her I had one already, and the way they treated us at the Wynn, it was the least I could do."
