Hornets extend lease, but could still opt out of agreement
New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) - The New Orleans Hornets and the state of Louisiana reached a deal Wednesday that extends the team's lease through 2014, but provisions in the agreement could allow the club to leave after next season.

The Hornets agreed to a two-year extension, covering the two years lost during the team's relocation to Oklahoma City following Hurricane Katrina. With Hurricane Gustav looming, the New Orleans Hornets shut down their operations on Friday so the team's employees could evacuate the city, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Sean Marks has inked a deal with the Hornets, according to the AP. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. Hornets' GM Jeff Bower said, "We are excited for Sean to join our team. He is a veteran leader who has been on winning teams and will be a great addition to our frontcourt."
