August 29, 2008
LaMont Jordan had a good game for the Patriots on Thursday, running six times for 27 carries, and has probably locked up a spot on the roster, according to the Boston Herald.
August 26, 2008
The Patriots have a deep group of experienced running backs and just one more exhibition game before they decide which ones to keep, according to the Boston Globe. Laurence Maroney, the team's top rusher last season, and veteran third-down back Kevin Faulk are virtual locks to make the 53-man roster. Veteran Sammy Morris, who missed the last 10 games last season with a chest injury, and LaMont Jordan, signed July 26 after being released by Oakland, also have a solid chance to stick. However, fullback Heath Evans, a strong special teams player, is highly regarded by coach Bill Belichick, who has also praised Benjarvus Green-Ellis, an undrafted rookie free agent running back.
August 7, 2008
Running back LaMont Jordan carried the ball 19 times, gaining 76 yards while scoring a touchdown for New England in their preseason contest against Baltimore.
July 27, 2008
The Patriots mentioned that LaMont Jordan is going to be used as a change-of-pace to Laurence Maroney, as was his role with the Jets behind Curtis Martin, according to the Boston Globe.
