Chris Kelsay indicated that expectations are high in Buffalo for the 2008 season, according to The Buffalo News. Kelsay said, "This is as high expectations as I’ve seen around here, and this is my sixth season here. Everybody I’ve spoken to, from teammates to Chief Operating Officer Russ Brandon, coach Jauron, our position coaches, everybody’s on the same page. Everybody wants to get the same thing accomplished — first and foremost, get to the postseason.”

Chris Kelsay saw his consecutive games streak come to an end at 75 games in week 13, according to BuffaloBills.com. Kelsay had not missed a game since his rookie season. The left defensive end did manage to play the last three games, but the ankle hindered his mobility. Four days after the 2007 season ended Kelsay had surgery on his ankle to repair the torn tendon, but three weeks post-surgery is already in the weight room and expects to take part in the team's offseason organized activies without restriction.

Chris Kelsay signed a four-year contract with the Bills on Monday, according to the Democrat and Chronicle. "Relieved, excited, it's just kind of an overwhelming feeling right now because Buffalo really exceeded my expectations and really did their part to get me back here," Kelsay said. "The stress that comes along with free agency and not knowing what lies ahead ..., that's all over and done with. It's a huge sigh of relief." Kelsay had a career-high 88 tackles this year.
