"Everyone in the room agreed that for the foreseeable future everyone will respect everybody's contracts," NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly said.
June 26, 2008 The NHL's salary cap will rise for the 2008-09 season some $6.4 million dollars to $56.7 million, according to ESPN.
June 16, 2008 The NHL's transfer agreement with European free agents has expired, according to ESPN. As a result, NHL team's will no longer be required to pay $200,000 to each team they take a player from. The downside is that it also means that the NHL cannot sign players that are under contract, they may only target European free agents.
