According to a report by the Boston Herald on Friday, Alexei Zhamnov failed his physical on the first day of the Bruins' training camp and was sent home. Zhamnov, who signed a three-year, $12.3 million contract with Boston last summer, suffered a broken ankle on January 7, ending his 2005-06 season after he recorded just one goal and nine assists in 24 games. He still is owed $8.2 million, which will be covered by insurance. | June 14, 2006
The Boston Herald reports that Alexei Zhamnov still hasn't recovered from the broken ankle he sustained in January. In fact, the injury could be career-threatening. So long as he's injured, the Bruins can't buy out his contract, which has two years and $8.2 million left on it. | April 13, 2006
Alexei Zhamnov, suffering from a broken ankle that has sidelined him since January 7, still hasn't begun skating, according to the Boston Herald. "I dont know why its taken so long," Zhamnov said. "Well see after the season when I go see the doctors again." It has been rumored that the Bruins will but out Zhamnov's contract for next season. |
