New coach Scott Gordon said, "With Jon, you're looking at a guy who has a level of skill. Sometimes guys who play with the energy he does, there's a dropoff in skill. But you don't get that with him. He's got good hands, he can score, he goes to the dirty areas to retrieve pucks. Jon is a guy that can make a play, and that's an important element."
